Individual psychotherapy

Adults

Our past impacts our present, and in turn, our future—but it doesn’t have to be that way. Even those who have not experienced trauma are impacted by early childhood experiences. Some people deny this fact because much of it is unconscious and is not easily seen when you’re “in it.” Trauma is subjective and not all traumatic experiences are “big” events like war, neglect or abuse. Trauma for some people may be things like being labeled “too sensitive” or “difficult” or being yelled at by a teacher—because words have power and can harm or uplift others.

Your past may show up in your relationships (avoidant, clingy), in the way you experience life (glass half full vs. half empty), in the way you parent if you’re a parent (getting triggered by your children and reacting negatively), etc…

Many people don’t want to go back in time to relive their biggest traumas or childhood wounds due to the fear of getting stuck and spiraling. Who can blame them? However, when we understand our past and heal from childhood wounds, trauma, or become conscious of our unconscious patterns, then we see the impact they are having on our lives.

As healing progresses, we gain the awareness to choose for ourselves. We get to choose a new perspective of life, new behaviors, new relationship patterns, and new ways of communicating, parenting and being in the world. We stay calm at times that we used get triggered. We get to live authentically as we bring the hidden parts of ourselves (that we now accept) out to be seen in order to live in full alignment.

Healing doesn’t have to be scary, dark, and distressing. I’ll take you to the deepest parts of yourself and your life that you’ve shut down and locked away, shed light on them, and gently guide you through your pain as we transform it into power.

I incorporate mind-body-spirit tools and practices to help you heal on a deeper level and feel empowered. Due to the nature of somatic/body-centered psychotherapy, you don’t even have to tell me about your trauma (unless you want to)!

We will work collaboratively, consensually, and at your own pace.
We are in this together.

You deserve to have the life and relationships you desire.

When we heal, we have the courage to live more confidently, authentically, and aligned.

There is so much wisdom and beautiful intergenerational patterns we receive as well. It’s just as important to honor them as it is to release wound.

I aim to support you in a safe and non-judgmental space while you process your thoughts and emotions so you can show up for yourself, your partner, or your children from a healed place.

I incorporate complementary unconventional practices (emotional freedom technique, energy work, guided visualizations, and more) with clinical evidenced-based practices to address the whole person in mind, body, and spirit. I’ve found that when I offer integrative psychotherapy, true healing occurs on a much deeper level.
